The Research Center for Regional Future was established in April 2009 to contribute to the solutions of regional problems by carrying out research from various points of view. The ultimate goal is to further sustained autonomous development of regional societies as regional government systems expand amid the escalation of decentralization.
The three pillar activities of our work at the center are networking locally, conducting research and disseminating information. Accordingly, the center carries out case studies, holds seminars, contributes articles and provides personnel to serve as committee members and advisors, partnering with local think tanks to disseminate information via regional data libraries.
The Women Entrepreneurs Center(WEC) was established by Development Bank of Japan Inc. (DBJ) in November 2011 as a platform for providing comprehensive support – including funds, business skills and business matching – to women seeking to launch and grow business. In April 2017, JERI joined in this initiative to promote the platform further and more highly.
DBJ-WEC and JERI-WEC recognize the essential role of women’s ideas and perspectives in achieving renewed growth of Japan. To encourage women who lead innovative business with the potential to bring economic and social changes to Japan, we hold the DBJ New Business Plan Competition for Women Entrepreneurs. Also, we conduct seminars to provide knowledge and network to women planning new business.
We will continue to support ambitious women to push Japan forward.
The Support Center for Technology Management was established by Development Bank of Japan Inc. (DBJ) in February 2004 to support new value creation in the manufacturing industry. The Center has researched future business models linked to new value creation and considered optimal growth strategies and business plans along with clients. Also, the Center has held seminars related to technology management for 12 years.
Additionally, in April 2013 the Center opened the Otemachi Innovation Hub (iHub) as a platform to design business concepts aimed at solving social issues and needs, and has expanded iHub to other cities in Japan to revitalize regional economies.
In April 2017 JERI joined in these initiatives to promote the platforms more broadly and deeply.
We will continue to support new value creation through open innovation.
